philosophy
Welcome to my world at the intersection of art & spirit.
As an artist & truth seeker, I understand each work to be an offering,
a prayer of reverence in dialogue with the Creator.
Shaped by personal experience, my visual language explores themes of dualities ...
joy & sorrow, the weight of gravity & the grace of transcendence ;
the beauty of the ephemeral
& the sacred inseparable bond between humanity & the natural world.
Central to my artistic narrative is the human genesis infused with metaphors found in nature,
inviting quiet contemplation on the tension between the temporal & the eternal,
& the transformative power of art as a mediator for meaning & the sacred.

'I am going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life.'
Elsie de Wolfe

framed
Reimagine the relationship between art & presentation.
Framed makes a statement where the frame doesn't simply contain the art, but sanctifies the boundaries
of reverence and reflection ... prayer and altar.
Each artwork is paired with a bespoke frame from my personally sourced & curated collection,
to elevate the experience of art that invites and captivates the attention.

about
A diploma in Fine Art at The Foundation School of Art, majoring in Print Making and Illustration, laid the foundation of color theory, composition, form and storytelling.
Annies creative process has led to the camera as a tool of expression, and she found her niche creating conceptual portraiture, becoming skilled and fluent in the digital art of compositing and image manipulation.
Today, her poetic visual language embraces a multi-disciplinary approach of compelling story telling.
Her tools include the camera, a digital workspace, paint, gold and silver gilding, often in a multilayered combination.
Whether illustrating a small artwork for books or large scale artworks for interiors, Annie uses scale to invite curiosity, and strives to evoke emotional resonance that inspires both a conscious and contemplative life.
Representation by The Studio Gallery in Simonstown and guest representation at Art@Africa in the Waterfront, Cape Town, has given Annie the privilege of seeing her work sold both locally and abroad.
She lives and works in her studio in the tiny village of McGregor, embraced by hills and mountains and surrounded by nature trails.
